Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

More History

Busy day...tai chi, grocery shop, a condo leak project, among others ....and not much photographing. But everyday at least a small stack of letters and cards etc.are dealt with...mom saved a lot!! I’m down to about 3” of letters in this 12”x15” box that was almost full. The letters are getting older ( and thinner paper) —-1930s for some so far ...you see what disarray they are in... Yes, more are getting saved. And some are going to be sent to relatives. Fascinating stuff. But we decided we needed to see a movie late afternoon so went to The Post which was so powerful and so timely for today... reminds one how important the freedom of the press is and also how politicians have always lied ( to different degrees of course). We lived in Washington DC only a couple of years before the Pentagon papers were leaked to the newspapers in 1971 (about the lies and deception of the Vietnam war that was such a horrendous mistake.) But just today I read a letter of mine to my parents with my personal description of the riots and fires burning in DC when Martin Luther King was killed in 1968. Bringing back memories of ferocious times ( that I was mostly oblivious to....).
