Tumbling Rumbling Crashing
Had a lovely excursion out of the city today with a friend to nearby town Carnation. Fresh air! Our destination was the wonderful yarn shop there. Yes, I couldn’t resist a bit of wool…
Then lunch at the pub, a wee walk along the Tolt River (overflow from the Tolt in the extra) and then a stop at Snoqualmie Falls…much of this Snoqualmie River is diverted to the power plants but this time of year there is too much water. Awesome. I haven’t been there for years and was a bit shocked to see that one has to pay $5 to park at the park there, just to take a picture. …so we decided that it had to be the blip. :-) It’s a traditional burial site for the Native Snoqualmie tribe and a place where prayers are carried up to the creator by great mists that rise from the powerful flow, connecting heaven and earth. There is a trail to the bottom where I’m sure those mists could be appreciated even more. Had too big a lens on the Sony at the moment so had to use the iPhone to show all 268 ft. The words are imbedded in the steps leading to the view.
