Spikey in the snow

Been snowing all day. Quite fine first thing when I scanned the garden and then it became heavier about lunchtime and settled a bit. Still snowing now but barely white anywhere.

This Hamamelis (witch hazel) dusted with snow has been flowering for quite some time. The red one next to it was my blip on New Year's Eve but this flowered a little later. I felt the tiny petals with their unusual shape qualified for the tiny Tuesday theme 'spikey'.
You can see an new leaf bud in the centre so despite the snow there are signs of spring.
