Walking in the snow....

We woke up to a white world this morning.  Good job that we have multiple forms of heating in the house, which has kept toasty warm throughout this cold spell.  We put on our walking boots and set off down the track that leads from the  village down to the barrage (dam).  We didn't go quite that far, though we walked for an hour or so. There were some streams to negotiate on the way, see extra, but there were no other footprints in the snow and I expect that no others have been made since - we had it all to ourselves. Lunch and a few chores in the afternoon and now I'm sitting by the wood-burning stove looking at the photos of the day.  It would be easy to get bored in this little hideaway, but if you embrace the slower pace of life here, the days can be full of interesting things to do.
