Forlorn Jubilee Square

A day that started so lovely went rapidly downhill. Early morning sunshine and a frost gave way to cold rain by the time we stepped outside to walk into town.

Town seemed very quiet, especially in this shot which is my entry for Silly Saturday, a solitary fairground ride in the town square on a wet day. Added a splash of colour but looked so forlorn. Thank you admirer.

We had our coffee, did a few things then walked home in the increasingly heavy rain. Good to get back home. Prepared the dinner in time to watch England struggle to beat Wales in the Six Nations. Post match reports suggested it was a disciplined English performance against a Welsh side that became for menacing as the game progressed.

English defence was good, I’ll grant you that but in terms of the penalty count England were very poor conceding five times as many as Wales and missing too many tackles. And I think I’m alone agreeing with the TMO to disallow the Welsh try. There’s no need for downward pressure nowadays only control of the ball. He was not in control of the ball (in my view)

Haggis, neeps and tatties for dinner, a little late for Burns Night I know. And a glass of Talisker rounded off the evening.
