As i post this, Greg Laidlaw has just kicked the ball between the posts in what looks to have been a tense game (the Scotland supporters burst briefly into song).

The tram i boarded at Hermiston Gait at 2pm was packed with silent rugby-goers. As they poured off the tram at Murrayfield, this man did at least look determined to enjoy whatever came.

Knife edge finish, though.

Extras - the ancient sweet chestnut (oldest specimen in the Botanics) is now a bat roost and insect/fungi host; first zing of rhododendron by Inverleith House.
