Presented to Elizabeth James
This version of Little Women was presented to my grandmother - Elizabeth James - on 20th September 1909 for "progress". She would have been a week shy of her 12th birthday at the time. My grandmother Elizabeth was the lady whose grandmother was born in the Tower of London (I mentioned this in a long-ago Blip).
Extra photos show more of the book...isn't it a treasure?
Also, in extras...My boy cleaning Mr A's car with his all-spangling snow-foam gizmo. Bless him, he cleaned my car and Mr A's car, in addition to cleaning his own. What a smart bunch we are today!
Thought for the day:
"Your neighbours will make judgements about you based on how your lawn and house look, and people who see you passing will judge you based on how clean you keep your car. It's not always fair, but it has always been true. Appearances matter, so make yours a good one." (Lou Holtz)
Note this appears to be my 600th Blip...?
