Diary of an Edinburgher

Eyemouth Day Four

Well, the forecast rain didn’t happen, though it was overcast all day. We went to England! Just over the border to Berwick, in fact. It's only a few miles away, though JR was eyeing up the coastal walk.

We walked round the old city walls, which was a great run around for Archie. Until I noticed the dire warnings on all the rubbish bins. Dogs were to be on a lead at all times, with a fine of £1,000! Being law abiding citizens, we put him back on the lead, and noticed that most other dogs were on leads too. However, on reading the notice at the end of the walk, it did say that you had to put them on a lead of asked to do so by an official. Refusal to do this would incur a large fine. I do wish I’d read the notice properly. Sorry Archie.

We had a dander through town. Archie and I went straight to a dog friendly cafe we'd spotted near the car park, while JR had a slower dander, via the shops. Crumpets were eaten.

My wrist is not as sore as yesterday - I can now use my left hand to open doors etc. My eye has now turned a delicate dark pink. I did try wearing dark glasses, but it seemed daft on a dull day. I didn’t really notice people staring at me. Much.
