Eyes Forward
Today I've been exploring taking pictures of the cats, either looking directly at the camera, as in this shot, or to one side, as in the extra (hopefully it works like that!).
This is Jett, my daughter's cat. Of course she is Jet Black in colour, which makes her enormously difficult to photograph at the best of times, which means I did have to play with the exposure to enable her features to show up at all.
I'm still exploring Haje Jan Kamps book, "Why Photographers Prefer Cloudy Days". Taking a picture of a pet was project 3, but I combined it with project 9 (taking a picture where the subject looks directly at the camera) and project 10 (taking a picture where the subject looks out of the frame); as I felt doing this at the same time would enable me to better grasp the differences.
Here I prefer the one where Jett is looking directly at the camera, as it seems to have more drama.
