Durgan
This morning we visited Durgan Gardens, a National Trust property about 20 minutes from Falmouth. The gardens wind down a valley and enjoy a protected, mild climate so there were plenty of camellias, primroses and snowdrops in bloom.
At the bottom of the valley the path leads out into the remote village of Durgan which consists of a handful of houses hugging a small beach on the Helford River. It looks to be little changed since the 18th Century or earlier and would make an excellent film set - if it hasn't been one already.
The photo shows the old School on the right with Beach House next to it. It's a beautifully unspoilt and peaceful spot.
Back home again now.
