heading west

There's not much point in coming a long way on a trip and not trying to meet up with as many people as possible. Off to Canmore to stay with a university friend and his family. I think I managed to fit in okay by telling his daughter that my daughter is a similar age and that they both like the same colours (pink & purple), sparkly things and stickers.

I headed out along the 1A and through a whole bunch of small towns but once out of Calgary there was very little on the road. Amazing landscape; rolling, barely covered piles of glaciation debris with the rockies in the distance.
