Nature's Snooker Balls

Yesterday afternoon, a massive hail storm wreaked havoc in our neighbourhood, smashing windows, roof tiles, car windscreens, garden furniture, shade cloth and the like. Gardens were devastated in this example of the power of nature, that lasted no more than 3 or 4 minutes. Stones plummeting into the swimming pool sent up fountains almost a metre high

These hailstones were collected immediately after the storm.

It was really quite frightening!!!!
