Cochin
Another wonderful day. Sunshine all the way. We had a delightful guide tot ale us around a few of Cochin's places of interest this morning; we enjoyed a stroll along the seafront, saw the dutch cemetery and a beautiful old church, went to the jewish quarter which was amazing and went into the oldest synagogue in India before wandering into a women's cooperative to buy some spices. There were beautiful saris, scarves and all manner of wonderful items to buy here. Then we lunched on the waterfront before heading back to base. We then went to see a traditional Kerala Kathakali dance before supper. We watched the make up being applied to one of the players before the actual dance.
We'd been invited out tonight by our Tour Operator, Fen Jacob, who took us to the Grand Hotel for a delicious fish dinner. Lovely to meet up with him - he has certainly done us proud on everything we asked and more!
The blip was taken as the show ended - I tried to take some during the show but ended up with a lot of heads in the way. The extras show the make up artist applying the makeup and the second is of my favourite Hindu god - Ganesh - recumbent - in an antiquities shop.
