Butterfly, Otago Museum

Another wet day, so we took the bus from the campsite to the Otago Museum in downtown Dunedin. It has several impressive galleries but we had most fun in the "Tropical Forest" where loads of butterflies roam free. A few hundred attempted photos later I had at a few which could be considered for today's blip and finally chose this one.

The rain eased off a little for a while so we had a bit of a wander round the streets and I took a pano shot of the impressive railway station (the extra). As I write however it's lashing down on the van.

We gather that the rain is a consequence of "ex-Cyclone Gita"; we're lucky that we're no longer in the south part of the North Island, or the north part of the South Island, as they seem to be suffering the worst of the storm. And as we have mains electric hook-up for the camper van this evening we can even use the supplied fan heater to keep us warm. Nice.

PS isbi has suggested that I tag this for Tiny Tuesday with the theme "sharp". Good idea, I'll do that! Thanks mindful_life for hosting TT.
