Box Pews and Snowdrops
After three days of glorious winter sunshine, B and I were so looking forward to joining a photoshoot in Walsingham to photograph the abundance of snowdrops in the Abbey grounds. However, we woke up to a gloomy day and lots of rain, which later turned into aggressive drizzle which lasted all day.
However, undeterred, we still went along and made the most of the opportunity to photograph the inside of the tiny Methodist chapel which was opened especially for us. Built in 1793-4 this is the oldest purpose-built chapel in East Anglia where services are still held. The interior is in the style of early Methodist preaching houses and contains a balcony on three sides and wonderful simple wooden box pews. B has a blip of part of the interior here (in extra):

My photo is taken from the organ loft looking along the organist’s seat across to the pews.
After a restorative coffee, we just had time (before our car park ticket ran out) to nip into the Abbey ruins to look at the snowdrops. It was still raining so we plan to go back another day to photograph the flowers but took one quickly while we were there.
A most enjoyable morning, despite the rain.
