Thrills, Chills, Excitement
...at the AOG Stadium today!
First up were the semi-finals for the snatch-n-go event with Teams Titmouse, Chickadee and Nuthatch all putting in very strong performances. It's impossible to say at this point what the Medal order will be as each of these teams has shown real grit and skill. For a glimpse of what we may see in the Finals, click HERE for a look at the Captain of Team Nuthatch. I think you'll agree that he's in top form.
Next up was the nut-peeling finals with Team Squirrel finally getting their act together to take the gold. (See Extra for Sydney II demonstrating precision peeling.) ALthough to be honest, Team Squirrel didn't have a lot of competition in this event since most of the other competitors lack hands. Also in Extra you can see Team Squirrel competing in the Nut Relays, looking very strong.
But the "fall out of your seat" moment came when long time OAG favorites, Team Chipmunk decided to come out of their burrows to compete for the No-hands Peanut Relay! Folks, it was non-stop action in the Stadium as Scoobie, seen here, demonstrated precision and racked up perfect 10's from the Judges. Sadly, some of the other members of his team got distracted by pheremones, dropping their peanuts to pursue mates and dispatch rivals. Not necessarily in that order.
So, in summary, another great day at the AOG. We're closing in on the final days now, so the remaining athletes are going to have to come into the arena with their "A-games" from here on out.
Do tune in for reports from around the globe - yesterday's event coverage can be viewed HERE, and you can see today's events by clicking on the tag below - 2018AOG21. Have fun, and happy Hump Day.

We had what will probably be a record breaking 75 F today so your Intrepid Reporter took a few hours off to go for a hike on a new (to me) trail...and got lost. A few nail-biting moments while I used my iPhone to get myself back to the parking lot. Yikes.
