Cat Ice

Very cold up on Ashdown Forest first thing this morning.Lots of cat ice around - thin layers of ice where the liquid water beneath has drained off leaving the ice supported only at the edges. Its called cat ice because it might support the weight of a cat but nothing more - as the spaniel delighted in demonstrating time and time again.
