Soldiers' oath

Big day for my son today: the rookie time is over now, as he gave the military oath in big ceremony - to be ready to defend his country and to keep peace and order.

Thousands of people in audience, proud parents and family members watching the ceremony in icy cold weather... And we also had buns and coffee in brigade after the ceremony.

The conscription will now continue in many ways depending of every soldier's own cababilities. My son was chosen to learn how to coach and lead new conscriptions coming to the brigade. I am proud of him and am sure that it was the right place for him.

The training seems very effective. Interesting world...
Both sexes in Finland can attend military service, but it is mandatory only for men.
