Rona

Today's the day .......................... to design

This is Rona - a woman of many talents.

She is an accomplished musician and performs as a duo with her husband John - but she's also a leatherworker, specialising in straps for strings and other musican instruments.  And it's because she's a musician and understands what is required, that she's the perfect person to make such things. 

I first came across her at a Craft Fair in Moniaive last year and I asked her if she would make Will a leather strap for his saxophone - as a Christmas present.  The one he had was very basic and put a lot of strain on his neck.  Rona set to and designed him one that transferred the weight on to his shoulders - and was totally unique to him, in the colours of leather that he chose himself.

Today we went round to see her, to pick up the finished article.  It does the job beautifully as you can see in the extra .......................
