2018 Thursday — Below Santa Barbara

We made the transition today from southern California to the Central Coast. This photo is at the beautiful little state park in the heart of the community of Summerland, which is immediately south of Santa Barbara. We discovered this place a month or so ago when we stopped the first time. I had noticed it several months ago as we were driving past on the freeway. The park offers ample parking and restrooms and even has a coin operated dog washing station (which we had never seen in a park before).

Because I currently am only teaching an early morning class on Thursday and I had no afternoon meetings today, we were able to leave at 11:00. It is a four hour journey to Cayucos and we had made three stops, so we arrived at 4:00 with plenty of time to unpack the refrigerator items and set-up housekeeping and then watch the sunset show. It was great.
