What you don’t want when the weather is this cold is a power cut that takes out your central heating. Hopefully power will be restored soon, otherwise it’ll be an early night for us with lots of layers and hot water bottles - and, I’m thinking, an alcoholic beverage or two.

As I have a fasting blood test in the morning I’m not allowed to eat after 8.30 this evening so I’d better go and see what I can find to eat and get cracking!
