Taking heed of my elders!

I love orchids and years ago I was lucky enough to go to Madeira and see lots of them, which inspired me to have a go at home.  I've never had much success with them, but my auntie Trix has a window sill covered in wonderful healthy specimens and reckons I am just too kind to them, that they need to be left alone and not faffed about with!  

I had been following her advice, and this one has been in flower now for several years.  It is thriving on neglect, except for a little rain water now and again.

She is 91 and obviously knows a thing or two!
