Blackness
Just the name reminds me of that painter character in the 'Fast Show'. "Black, black, you lock me in the cellar and feed me pins." No? Oh well it was 20 years ago. Anyway, this is Blackness Castle near Linlithgow on the Firth of Forth. It's been a garrison fortress and state prison since it was built in the 15th century.
It's been an odd day. Lady Marian's plane was due to take off att 10.10 this morning. It didn't. She eventually arrived in Edinburgh at 2.15 so most of this time I was watching the weather and wondering where I can go and still be able to get to the airport and if the bad weather would stay off until I could get there. Several times a snow flurry blew up and I thought that must be the start of it and then it cleared again. Anyway, we're now safely established in our B&B, quite close to Marian's daughter, Frances, where we've been for the afternoon and evening.
It has been snowing quite hard, but there's a lot more due tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. Stay safe, wherever you are.
