Day 1, New Orleans

Woke early, went for breakfast at Mother’s. had grits, eggs and amazing blackened baked ham. Took a paddleboat trip to the site of the Battle of New Orleans - yes, and the British kept a-coming. The afternoon was spent walking around the old French Quarter, eventually ending with a sampler New Orleans meal of Jambalaya, Gumbo, shrimp creole, beans and rice. Started with a shot of a Bloody Mary with biggest oyster I have ever eaten (and I have eaten loads of them). Jeg lag setting in, so off to bed. Realised I had left the small camera charger at home and brought a charger I don’t need. Still have the big Nikon, but will be scouring camera shops if I find any.
