Open for 'summer'...

What a day! The 'Beast from the East' is certainly showing its teeth.

About 12 inches of snow now (late afternoon), still snowing, and forecast to continue throughout the night. Snow ploughs and gritters have been up and down the High Street all day (there are great heaps of snow all over the place - extra), but simply can't keep up with it. Roads treacherous, no buses running, so an unexpected day off work.

Minus 5degC outside and the boiler packed up this morning! Thankfully Ben, the plumber, battled up the hill through the snow and sorted it out - what a hero.

MrM and I ventured out for a walk this afternoon, leaving Louie asleep in his basket.Too cold, and the snow too deep, for him to go far. Lots of snowy landscape shots, but this made us smile. MrM pointing out a notice in the window of a local shop. Funnily enough, it was shut today!
