Dig

So, "The Beast" meets "Emma".

No fresh snow, but gale force wind picks up yesterdays and builds snow sculptures across the road.

Most of the lanes are made impassable to vehicular traffic (Excepting tractors!) and brave souls (in tractors) have to dig the stranded cars out.

One of these drifts was about 3 metres tall!

In lanes more sheltered from the prevailing Ivan, the gritter/plough had scraped the road flat, giving motorists a clear run at the next drift.

Obviously, doughty dog-walkers and intrepid hounds care nothing for these icy monoliths and plod on regardless in search of hot tea and rabbits.
