One trick pony

There must be dozens of more interesting photos I could have put up today than that view from my sofa.... but here it is. Tracy Emin has her unmade bed, I have my chaotic footstool: newspapers with (almost) completed crosswords; Local Hero in DVD, new prescription HRT that hopefully won't have weird side effects, an empty wine glass, and a mortgage statement (what, another 13 years before I'm mortgage-free???)

Beewriter and I challenged each other to write a 500 word short story with snow as a theme before morning. The boys and I decided to have a photo competition - best snow image by end of tomorrow. Beewriter is the judge. Winner gets chocolate. The competitive spirit is alive and well.

Decide not to drive to Henley tomorrow for dinner - seems silly in this snow. Former neighbour Susan told me about her Hurtigruten Cruise in northern Norway the week before last and it reminded me of Ross Mackenzie's journal covering his frequent travels in the north including Shetland and Norway.
