Jay...
... Meet Jay The Simply Gorgeous.
She's not mine, she belongs to a neighbour.
She came for a rootle in our snow.
I had popped outside for a warm (!).
The boiler is working now though, fingers crossed.
We had an interesting night, recalling how life used to be, before The Central Heating (which we so much take for granted these days).
You just don't see those woollen (and itchy/scratchy) dressing gowns with pretty, shiny trimmings and tassels any more do you?
Or Horlicks mugs with winking faces and a night cap.
Night caps!
(We had seriously considered bobble hats for sleep last night).
We hadn't imagined that we would be huffing and seeing our breath.
Not indoors anyway...
The plumber said, 'Is it an emergency?'
And of course it wasn't.
It was uncomfortable.
As long as the boiler stays working (!) I'm prepared to say it was actually quite fun.
I fell over in the snow again today. Unlike a couple of days ago (where I was lucky not to have hurt myself) this time I got stuck in a deep drift having felt myself slowly slip into a sitting position. If Jay hadn't come along I would have blipped a bottom-shaped hole in a pretty drift.
I fancy the wine forecast is (like the above dressing gowns) a bit 'scratchy', owing to the walk to the wine emporium being a tad treacherous.
However, the forecast for weird liqueurs brought home from exotic holidays and left to gather dust for emergencies, is looking exceedingly good!
Happy Friday One and All!
Stay warm.
