Beechwoods

Dull and grey today. They seem to be coming alternately bright and dull, but today seemed more deeply autumnal, smoky and hushed as if everything is suspended, waiting.
It was nice to work in the garden. Its good to have had it dry for a time and to have been able to reconnect with old projects. The summer was so difficult I had almost given up on the garden (not like me at all), the dry energetic autumn is a boon.
We took a quick walk at Lough Ine, I love this little cottage nestled on the lakeside under the beeches.
