It's a baldy bald life!

Settle Petal

Back to work day! Never a great prospect, especially after a whole week off. It had been a restless night too as I'm going through a hyper-aroused period! No you dirt bag midden's not like that! I just feel the need to be doing something all the time: training, thinking about training, writing something, thinking about what to write or simply deconstruction some abstract concept in the membrane. Stimuli are needed. I've also spent over a week with Rosemary and it'll take a few days to settle now she's back in Edinburgh.

My final task before leaving the house most days is to make a cup of espresso. Eek, a new bag to open and my ritual is always to give the Pavoni a proper clean before doing so. That done, I opened the bag of Ethiopian Sidamo from Artisan Roast. I know it says Sidano but this must be a spelling error. Woahhhh......what an aroma, sweet, fragrantly pungent small light-medium roasted bean. Amazing. I was excited!

Sidamo is where coffee is said to have begun. In fact, the same has been said about humanity. I pulled a pretty good extraction first time round, which is highly unusual. This coffee certainly wasn't an Ardi or Australopithecus on the evolutionary chain though! Think tarte au citron....sweet, acidic, crisp and vibrant. I loved it! I do like Artisan, but I've never had a bean up to the standard of Square Mile or the very best Has Bean from them, until now! Later in the day, I had it from Aeropress and it was more balanced but still had that crisp lemony flavour. Talk about my senses being heightened!

After work, I headed off to NTP to do a bit of writing, accompanied by a Guatemalan V60 and brie, tomato and pear chutney sarnie on some nice rye bread. Managed to get Jules the barista to blush...her Norwegian ear picked up that I blurted out she looked pretty, but I said nothing of the sort! Funny though!

I needed to calm down so went to Sangha but my brain was still frazzled during meditation! Ratnaguna's teaching helped, but as always I had a dozen questions for every statement he made! It wasn't a discussion though so I had to keep them to myself! Grrrr.....so to relax, I'm writing my Blip on the train! Outta here! Insane in the membrane, insane in the brain! Boo yaa funkin it out! Chill bald one! Do you think I have a coffee addiction?
