Returned to Golden Bay to pick G up after her weekend retreat. Because the retreat finished earlier than originally thought it meant we had an opportunity to explore a little more of Golden Bay with our cameras before heading back to Nelson....
...coffee and 'people watching' in Collingwood at the Old Courthouse cafe...
...a stroll to the historic Collingwood cemetery where many of the graves are unmarked but those that have been identified reveal some of the hardships that existed during the mid-late 19th century pioneering period.
...then a drive up to the old Bainham store and Post Office which is an iconic piece of Golden Bay history......and they serve mighty fine tea and scones!! Today's blip is a shot of part of the old Post Office.......
...a drive further along the road to the historic - but closed for access!! - Salisbury swingbridge but we were at least able to use the road access then walk down to the river to paddle in the beautiful cool water. If you ever go here, remember to take insect repellent. We didn't :(
Headed back to Nelson quite late - then made it an even longer day by staying up and talking well into the wee small hours.
This shot of the Post Office boxes at Bainham was a close second for todays blip.
