Coots

Went for a walk around Larbert Loch this afternoon and spotted these two coots making their way across the ice. A few moments later they had found a small pond in the ice, probably only a metre or so in diameter, in which to swim.

Spotted them back on the ice later, but at a bit where it looked as if it was melting; they were quite happily pecking away and one could also spot their tracks, a sure sign that there was some 'give' in the surface below.
