Inside hell (sometimes)

This is the exhaust of the gasturbine of unit 4 which is stopped for maintenance.
At this spot the temperature is between 590 and 650 degrees centigrade when the unit is running.
This is a view from inside the exhaust towards the gasturbine.
The outlet casing of the power turbine has been taken off and the bearing and rear end of the gasturbine are covered with a orange colored tarpaulin.
The light now is coming from aside (manhole) and from the gasturbine room.
The nuts in front of the camera hold the cladding (kind of insulation) at it's place.
The whole exhaust at the inside is coverded with these kind of nuts and studbolts. Every nut is welded to the bolt to protect it from coming off.
Picture taken at 03.00 am when the mechanics had gone home and we (production) were left behind....:-)
