Colder side than yesterday
Yesterdays Blipwas a view at the hot side of the gasturbine, this is the "cold" side....
I'm sitting on the slowly turning shaft (1 rev. per minute), looking at the coupling between the gasturbine shaft and the intermediate shaft which is connected at my side to the steamturbine.
At the left and right there are two connecting rods which make the coupling between both steam- and gasturbine a sturdy one.
At the gasturbine coupling there are pick ups which registrate the revolutions of the shaftline.
The shaft is turned slowly to make it stretch (sounds weird, I know) and it's lifted bij jacking (lifting) oil which is lead under the shaft at a pressure of over 100 bar.
At normal speed the normal lubricating oil is sufficient.
Note: normally this part cannaot be acessed; it's completely coeverd in a steel casing. The unit is having a maintenance stop and the shaftline has been aligned to avoid vibrations when it's running.
