My first Spanish language novel

I read this novel a few years ago in English and absolutely loved it. I am now questioning whether a novel written in the 'Magical Realism' style was really the best choice for my first attempt at reading a full text in another language. Oh well it's worth a try - shame there aren't any pictures!
