Pull up a seat!
Change of scene for this mornings walk. We had really thick mist and drizzle so we had a walk in Wray Barton woods, just behind the house. Although the bracken has all turned brown the trees are mainly still green.
About a mile along the path you will find this wooden seat, that someone with a chainsaw and time to spare, has carved out of a tree trunk. It overlooks an open grassy area we call the meadow and in the summer it is a grand place to sit and hope to see some deer. Not today though!!!!
There is a new cafe opened at Parke near Bovey Tracey. This is the headquarters of the National Park and the Dartmoor offices of the National Trust, it is also a mecca for dog walkers with lovely woodland and river walks. Now you can also get lunch and snacks and teas to fortify you before or after exercising you four legged friend or in my case or in my case Mrs M, We then went up to Haytor with Jinx for his walk and low and behold there was an ice cream so we had one for our pudding.
