The Rugglestone Inn

Today is daughter No2 ** birthday. She has just had an horrendous week dealing with OFSTED inspectors but coming through it with flying colors. Today she had taken the day off but went in to leave gifts for some of her staff as a token of thanks for all their hard work.

At lunch time we did manage to get to the Rugglestone Inn, which is tucked away on the moor near Widecombe An old cottage which was converted to a pub in 1832 and takes its name from a local logan stone. This is an authentic country pub with a stream running through the garden, flagstones floors and log fires.

Great food and plenty of it with several local ales.

This evening we are settled into Dartmoor base with the log fire blazing and all feeling too stuffed to eat much else, so its boiled eggs all round.
