Detail of the Mersey Tunnel Office Building

Not one of the Three Graces but probably more 'graceful' than any of the Victorian/Edwardian buildings on the Pier Head is the Office of the Mersey Tunnels as it is an Art Deco original built in 1934.
Constructed to contain both offices and ventilator equipment for the Queensway Tunnel. The tunnel entrances, toll booths and ventilation building exteriors were all designed by architect Herbert James Rowse. The external decoration is by Edmund Thompson. Grade II listed.
