Technology
Down to Lanark by train on Thursday to attend something that had been billed as a "Techno-Doxology consultation". Thankfully, the sub-title and fuller description of the event in the promotional material made it appear more interesting and inviting, and, even more thankfully, it actually turned out that way.
It was a seminar, and round-table discussion, about the use of technology in church, and although the original theme was intended to be around the use of technology in church worship services, our discussions took us much further without straying too far from the primary topic - helped in no small measure by a good agenda, chairperson and facilitators. We looked at good and bad examples of practice, architectural considerations, what indeed we mean by technology (microphones are technology, as was the invention of the printing press!) and much more.
A useful day out, plenty of issues to reflect upon afterwards, but more than anything else a chance to catch up with people and share ideas.
