International Heelwork to Music at Crufts
I had a fabulous morning at Crufts 2018. First of all I popped over to the Mastiffs in the Discover Dogs area. They are such a great advert for the breed and they were attracting great attention.
Then I went very early to find a seat in the Arena. It’s quite a long approach to the area and it was already quite full when I got there around 10.30. I started off on the back row while there was the Agility but moved forward as spaces were released.
By the time it was the International Junior Handling, I’d made it right to the front. I was next to some Formation Display Team enthusiasts (Spinones and Doberman) and to two keen Flyball ladies.
I’d gone to watch the International Heelwork to Music and the standard was unbelievably high. I first got interested a few years ago, when I met Emmy Marie Simonsen from Denmark through Blipfoto. A great Blipmeet near Coventry and that’s where I met Hero, the star of the show.
Emmy and Hero had won through to Crufts again and I wanted to see them live. I’ve enjoyed watching on livestream before but this was special.
My photo is of Emmy and Hero, both clearly enjoying performing their Ghost Story.
The standard was really high and I was so proud of them both. A super experience. Thank you.
