.The Knives Are Out

Actually they are all in their place.
The soup was good, the rolls were out of this world and the banter was brilliant. The coffee from the fancy machine is good too.

I love our weekly visits to the cooking school cafe.

In the evening I headed in to Edinburgh to join other photographers to take pictures of the lighting extravaganza  that is/was Lumen (and some models)
What another underwhelming art display put on by the council that was!
Not helped by the weird warning that came up on my car's dashboard on the way in (turns out i needed to drive for at least 30 minutes at a speed above 37kpm (whatever that is in real money) and then my flash batteries dying almost immediately.

So my pictures of the lit trees (this was the most dramatic and the models were taken without flash and with high ISO.  Some of the black & white conversions may well end up being the best.

So after losing heart in St Andrew's Square, I headed along to take some pictures of the daisies and the fish.
I didn't hang about as I didn't think a girl standing in front of them would improve things. That and I was being poisoned by the fumes from the huge generators being used to power the projectors (way oversized for the job).
Then it was down to Speakers Corner where the waterfall of light was suposed to be spectacular.
t wasn't as far as I was concerned ........a huge cube of strings of left over Christmas lights with chaged colour in time to strange noises claiming to be music with people standing in it.
The steps in the gardens were much more photogenic as far as I was concerned.

I really must stop istening to the hype about these things.
