Beautiful Ullswater

The plan today was to tick three new Wainwrights north of Ullswater. We started at Aira Force car park and walked up past the falls and headed out onto to Gowbarrow. We completed a circular walk incorporating a section of the Ullswater Way. The views from the lower slopes of Gowbarrow were spectacular with wonderful light, sky and reflections. The three peaks were not easily combined into a meaningful circular walk so we drove nearer to the Mell Fells before embarking on Great Mell Fell and Little Mell Fell which, regardless of their name were both higher than Gowbarrow.
