Yes...I know...

…possible the world’s most boring photo!  How it came about is that M, B and I went to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve at Cley this morning.  After viewing the ‘Bird Photography of the Year' winning photos, and enjoying a cup of coffee, we walked down to Bishop’s Hide.  But to be honest, there wasn’t a lot going on.
 
Having sat down on the bench and opened the window, we were faced with a dull, overcast day, and there was absolutely nothing close to the hide to get a decent picture of.  I did have a 300mm lens with me but it just wasn’t worth getting it out the bag.  So, in the end I had to resort to trying to get an ‘arty’ shot of a few broken, dead reed stems and some ripples on the water.
 
B was much more dedicated than me and had brought along a 400mm lens which is far more useful in a bird hide, and I’ve no doubt the extra reach of her lens has allowed her to photograph a bird of some sort.
 
However, although my picture may not be in the least bit interesting or exciting, it was lovely sitting in the peace and quiet of the hide, listening to the redshank calling, and seeing lapwings in the distance whirling and diving, and enjoying the complete absence of any man-made sounds…just lovely.  So, I’m not complaining at all, that's wildlife for you!
