Wet and Grey

Summed up the day! Had to resort to walking around town on footpaths except for a very short section at the back of our house. This is a few yards upstream. Got my passport photo redone and the application completed on line.
Thursday coming should have seen the 499th running of the oldest horse racing event in the UK . Sadly on safety grounds, following the last lot of rain the decision was made that a local rider would walk the course on his horse to keep the race alive. The charter allowing the race would laps if the course was not completed on the due day. so lets hope I can get to next years I've already missed 499 runnings!
