First Day of Spring
How His Lordship and I used to laugh at people who sat in Libraries to keep warm. We are not laughing now. We spent time ourselves this morning warming up over a hot coffee in the National Library of Scotland. It was so good to feel the encompassing heat.
We dallied looking at the Muriel Spark exhibition and the display books as we thawed out before walking home via the Grassmarket and the Vennel steps where this blip was taken.
His Lordship is now sitting outside in the sun to replenish his vitamin D, and lets face it, it’s almost warmer outside than in.
My ‘illegal daffodils’ have survived through the months of being covered by a mountain of dead leaves and 2 dumps of snow to emerge triumphant, while the Hydrangea Petiolaris on the wall and the Japanese Maple in the tub have buds, despite the recent Arctic conditions. Extra image
Isn’t nature wonderful?
