Wallace Monument- and down-sizing

Downsizing- should we do it? If so when?
 
This subject came up today when we met up with some very old friends in the Forth Valley college restaurant (one of Stirling’s best kept secrets –  3- course Michelin style menu for £10 – prepared by students).
 
A friend who recently downsized described it as the best thing she had done. “I feel as if I have got a new life.”
 
But there is an alternative to downsizing. I heard today of a new trend- - signing yourself into a Travel Lodge where you have a key and  can come and go as you please ( sorry!  I said earlier it was Premier Inns)
Well, it’s not quite the same as The Best Exotic Holiday Hotel but you get the drift.
