Middleton Lakes (retrospective)
I took a lot of photos on our walk last week around the RSPB reserve. It was a beautiful day filled with sunshine and a sense of Spring. There had been heavy rain the day before, and this particular pathway was obviously not passable, unless wearing wellington boots.
We chose another meandering route, of which there are several, and sauntered along, as I revelled in the peace, the blue skies, and a promise of better days.
Alas, towards the end of the week we had another blast of winter which was nicknamed here as the Mini Beast from the East. (Ironic now, given the recent poisoning of a former Russian spy in Salisbury!)
We had a shed-load of snow and arctic temperatures once again.
It pays to make the most of the days, few and far between, this past winter, when the sun shines and the cold doesn't grip us with icy fingers.
Today I will be able to dry my washing on the outside line.
