Heron
My lunchtime walk today took me once again to the lake behind the Rose and Crown. In the past I have often seen a heron perched in the middle of the lake, but not once since I started my blip journal in April, until today.
Soon after I took this photo a large group of thuggish black-headed gulls flew in and started harrying the heron until it flew off.
I suspect this is the same bird that we have seen in our garden before and which stands accused of stealing the fish from the neighbour's pond.
