Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice.

After singing this morning - the final practice for tomorrow night's concert - TM and I skipped lunch, the better to prepare ourselves for my twice-postponed birthday treat, Afternoon Tea at the Signet Library.

The venue is really a library - we sat in a bay surrounded by shelves full of tomes of Acts of Parliament and House of Commons debates from the 1800s. 

We were there for the cake however, and it did not disappoint.  The extra is TM framed by the second stand of dainty morsels. We'd already had the 'amuse bouche' (soup served in a coffee cup), and three tiers of savouries.  

After the sweets, came a passion-fruit sorbet. Everything was just so .......  and I'd love to go again. But maybe not for a few months.
