Snow emergency

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

A strange day indeed, clouded by plane cancellations and disturbed travel plans. We set up a video conference for people who are unable to commute in, but no snow materialises.

The course is soon over. I head back to my room and learn that the snow emergency is official. My car is parked on the wrong side of the road and will be towed if not moved. I can park in an elementary school car park, but if I do I’m not allowed to move the car until after the emergency has been lifted.

I park on Pearl and head to La Brasa for tea. I eat a lovely steak with “fully loaded sweet potato”. I drink a beer. I even have their really nice dessert cake. And the I go to sleep - before 9.
